Toxsostoma longiroste

Long-billed Thrasher

Langschnabel-Spottdrossel

A resident of dense brushy habitats, the Long-billed Thrasher is only found in southern Texas and eastern Mexico. Its common name describes its behaviour when searching for food on the ground: it uses its long bill to "thrash" through dirt or dead leaves. Laguna Atascosa, National Wildlife Refuge, Los Fresnos, Texas, USA
