Sea Otter

Seeotter

Sea otters on the west coast of Vancouver Island live mostly within a mile of the shore. They eat, sleep, breed and give birth in the sea. Sea otters are great users of tools. When they dive for food, they also bring up a small rock. They can then float on their backs, place the rock on their chest and crack shells against it. Abalone, sea urchins, crabs, mussels and fish are their main source of food. Discovery Point, Nootka Sound, West Coast, Vancouver Island, BC. Canada
