Ovis Canadensis

Rocky Mt. Bighorn Sheep

Felsengebirgs-
dickhornschaf

Bighorn sheep can be found in alpine meadows and foothills near rocky cliffs on higher elevations. They have a muscular body and thick neck. Rams have massive horns in a C-shape called a curl. A 7- or 8-year-old may have a full curl, with tips level with horn bases. Ewes' horns are much less impressive, being thin and short--never forming more than a half curl. Fighting rams in the rutting season, Okanagan Valley BC. Canada
