Gemse

The chamois lives in the higher regions of the alps. In the summertime, it moves to the steep walls and meadows, where it feeds mainly off herbs and many kinds of grasses. In the winter, it travels down to the valleys in the mountainous forest regions. During the year, its habitat thereby varies from 800m to more than 2,500m above sea level. Walchensee, Germany
